At first this was assumed to be a slip on the guider position so the RA zero point offset was moved to better align the guider to kcor. The total move was about 125 and taking place a in a few steps over that 25 minute window. Finally it was realized that the guider SUM had dropped form the nominal ~6.5 to to ~4.7. At this point it was realized we had a dome obstruction. By this point the kcor lens cover/nd filter was put in. The dome was then rotated to the proper position and the automatic dome rotation was turned back on. And the sgs-kcor alignment returned to its nonimal position. ___end___ Tue Apr 13 22:22:56 GMT 2021 Kcor Focus/alignment program exited GENERAL COMMENT BY berkey: Tue Apr 13 23:21:31 GMT 2021 Clouds blowing in. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY berkey: Wed Apr 14 00:59:53 GMT 2021 Inspected and cleaned the spar RA drive motor. Some flaking of the brass RA spur seems to be coming from cut in of the spur gear by the worm gear. Worm gear was lubricated with grease to hopefully help avoid further cut in. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY berkey: Wed Apr 14 02:34:04 GMT 2021 Found the RA to be slipping between clouds. From this the RA clutch was inspected it was found to have gotten a little looser since it was installed. After tightening the clutch, the RA PID values where check to find that instead of 70/.0015 40/.02 might be better values. RA KC=40, Ti=.02 will be the default until we check the values mid-day over the next week or so. ___end___ ONSITE STAFF: berkey
