I tried blowing it off several times but it would not budge. I looks like it may be on the inside of the lens and also has the appearance of a bit of "Contact remover" that may have been left behind. ___end___ Sat Apr 24 17:03:53 GMT 2021 Kcor Focus/alignment program exited GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Sat Apr 24 17:09:35 GMT 2021 Kcor running. I looked at the camera located on the west side of the spar to see if it had any obvious problem but it appears physically to be okay. I'll take another look at it later in the day when the spar is at a better angle. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Sat Apr 24 17:18:45 GMT 2021 The Kcor coronograph image has come up and their are two very distinct lines visible in the image. The are located at the bottom of the image and cross at the 6:00 o'clock position of the image. ___end___ Sat Apr 24 19:24:46 GMT 2021 KCOR Start Calibration script: c:\kcor\mlso-calibration22deg-20171025.ini Sat Apr 24 19:40:01 GMT 2021 KCOR End Calibration Script Sat Apr 24 19:53:38 GMT 2021 Kcor Focus/alignment program exited GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Sat Apr 24 22:52:48 GMT 2021 A bullet hole appeared on the Kcor image on the outer edge of the image at approximately 30 deg. I blew off the Kcor 01 and it seems to have taken care of that one. There are still a few more visible in image but I believe they may be on the inside of the lens. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Sat Apr 24 22:55:43 GMT 2021 I cleaned off the Yawcam lens and re-centered and re-affixed the mechanism that is used as an occultor but the image still looks dark and it has a purplish color to the image. I'm not sure what is going on with it but I will take another look at it. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Sat Apr 24 23:27:04 GMT 2021 I readjusted the Yawcam on the occulter. The mage still looked very dark so I disconnected and reconnected two of the USB cable connectors, that are located in the dome and are daisy chained together, that provide power and data for this camera. The image reappeared and it appears to be normal once again. When I got back into the control room the image looked a little out of focus. I tried adjusting the focus but the monitor in the dome is not the greatest and my eyes are not the best. The focus is close but it could be fine tuned for a better image. When Ben and I are working together on Monday we should be able to get it better adjusted working together. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Sat Apr 24 23:33:53 GMT 2021 I blew off the field lens to see if it made any difference with the bullet holes that are visible in the Kcor image. It may have helped a little bit but it certainly did not remove all the bullet holes. It is worth noting that I saw lots of dust particle when I directed the air stream into to field lens housing ___end___ WEATHER COMMENT: mcotter: Sat Apr 24 23:50:17 GMT 2021 Orthographic clouds have formed along the western slope of Maunaloa, but so far are keeping just below the level of the observatory. There is a light wind from the east, so perhaps they will not move into to the viewing area. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Sun Apr 25 03:05:52 GMT 2021 Good day of observing. Relatively clear skies all day. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Sun Apr 25 03:11:37 GMT 2021 Emptied trash in the dome and control room. ___end___ ONSITE STAFF: mcotter
