Inversion layer visible on the horizon at or above Maunakea. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Tue Jun 22 16:35:20 GMT 2021 Opened windows upstairs ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Tue Jun 22 16:35:35 GMT 2021 PM Blew off UCoMP O1 ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Tue Jun 22 16:35:41 GMT 2021 PM Blew off Kcor O1 ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Tue Jun 22 16:44:10 GMT 2021 The dome is open but the sky currently is much too bright to run the instruments. In the Yawcam Preview image I can see bands of high altitude Cirrus in the viewing area. I will continue to leave the dome open as there does not appear to be any danger of precipitation and I will continue to monitor the sky to see if conditions improve. ___end___ Tue Jun 22 19:30:21 GMT 2021 Kcor Focus/alignment program exited WEATHER COMMENT: mcotter: Tue Jun 22 19:33:19 GMT 2021 Temp: 55.9f, Humidity: 23%, Pressure: 28.811in, Wind: 0mph from 17degs, Skies: Bands of high altitude Cirrus and Cirrostratus continue to be prevalent and are covering the entire sky. There is very little to no wind. Radar and Satellite imagery shows that this weather pattern is likely continues for the foreseeable future. ___end___ UCoMP COMMENT BY mcotter: Tue Jun 22 19:39:52 GMT 2021 Finally able to get Ucomp running, though the sky continues to be a bit bright. *NOTE* When pushing the buttons the on the "mech-controller" GUI there appears to be a disconnect between the activation of the command and whether the button has latched or not. More than once I thought I engaged the button, but after a little time I can see that no command has been sent and I end up re initializing the command prompt. ___end___ KCOR COMMENT BY mcotter: Tue Jun 22 19:42:47 GMT 2021 Kcor up and running. While running the focus routine aerosols and other particulates could be widely seen in the focus image, so the sky does remain quite bright. SGS offsets: X(RA): -142, Y(Dec): 88. Polarization checked good: Mid, Bright, Dark, Mid. ___end___ Tue Jun 22 20:05:40 GMT 2021 KCOR Start Calibration script: c:\kcor\mlso-calibration22deg-20171025.ini Tue Jun 22 20:20:56 GMT 2021 KCOR End Calibration Script WEATHER COMMENT: mcotter: Tue Jun 22 22:12:50 GMT 2021 Temp: 58.6f, Humidity: 49%, Pressure: 28.751in, Wind: 4mph from 38degs, Skies: Orthographic are forming to the south and are slowly moving toward the observatory. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Tue Jun 22 22:58:05 GMT 2021 ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Tue Jun 22 23:18:27 GMT 2021 Manually adjusted dome rotation position on sky, as the dome rotation sensors don't appear to be tracking properly. The Sun is at it's northern most point in the sky so the spar is tracking near zenith, so this may be an issue for how the sensors are tracking. ___end___ UCoMP COMMENT BY mcotter: Tue Jun 22 23:47:18 GMT 2021 Viewing the Ucomp-controller GUI, I observed just a small amount of "Yellow" color on the image of the occulter (left side image) at approximately the 1:00 o'clock position, indicating a bit of over saturation in the image. I engaged the "Center Occulter" button and waited for the Center Occulter GUI to open. I observed that the "mech-controller" changed state and put the shutter in beam. After perhaps 20 to 30 seconds the shutter came out of beam automatically and the duel image of the occulter appered in the split screen on the left side of the GUI. Following normal procedure, I centered the occulter using the "Right", "Left", "UP" and "DOWN" buttons, then closed the program. The Ucomp-controller GUI came back up and to me it appears that the to instrument is continuing to run as normal. ___end___ WEATHER COMMENT: mcotter: Wed Jun 23 00:02:44 GMT 2021 Temp: 58.4f, Humidity: 62%, Pressure: 28.705in, Wind: 11mph from 360degs, Skies: Orthographic clouds are moving in from the north-northwest. Altocumulus clouds are forming all around the summit of Maunaloa and are now obscuring the viewing area. ___end___ UCoMP COMMENT BY mcotter: Wed Jun 23 00:03:23 GMT 2021 Ucomp has been paused for clouds. ___end___ KCOR COMMENT BY mcotter: Wed Jun 23 00:03:55 GMT 2021 Kcor has been stopped until sky conditions improve. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Wed Jun 23 00:12:37 GMT 2021 Cloud coverage is increasing. The dome shutter doors have been closed until sky conditions improve. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Wed Jun 23 01:21:38 GMT 2021 Cloud coverage over the dome has broken up a bit so I re-opened the dome. I attempted to run Kcor but the images were completely over saturated, so I shut the program down. ___end___ WEATHER COMMENT: mcotter: Wed Jun 23 01:23:27 GMT 2021 Temp: 58.1f, Humidity: 61%, Pressure: 28.677in, Wind: 10mph from 307degs, Skies: The cloud coverage has broken up over the observatory but the sky continues to be much too bright to run the instruments. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Wed Jun 23 02:22:37 GMT 2021 The day started off bright but after an hour or so the sky cleared up and the instrument were run for several hours of good data. ___end___ ONSITE STAFF:
