I can see buffeting of the spar in the SGS error traces that I suspect are from gusty winds, as the current sustained winds are > 20 mph. The spar is still pointing relatively low on the horizon , but once it gets up a little more I will try using the dome shutter lower door as a wind screen to see if it will help with the spar buffeting. ___end___ Sat Jul 03 20:00:46 GMT 2021 KCOR Start Calibration script: c:\kcor\mlso-calibration22deg-20171025.ini Sat Jul 03 20:16:03 GMT 2021 KCOR End Calibration Script GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Sat Jul 03 21:34:23 GMT 2021 The wind has declined a little since this morning but it is still blowing steady from the east with sustained winds > 15 mph with higher gust at times. I have closed the dome shutter lower door and the windows facing the east in an attempt to allay the wind buffeting the spar. ___end___ WEATHER COMMENT: mcotter: Sat Jul 03 21:35:06 GMT 2021 Temp: 56.3f, Humidity: 13%, Pressure: 28.693in, Wind: 17mph from 104degs, Skies: Orthographic clouds are forming to the north and west. ___end___ Sat Jul 03 22:23:41 GMT 2021 Kcor Focus/alignment program exited Sat Jul 03 22:28:12 GMT 2021 Kcor Focus/alignment program exited WEATHER COMMENT: mcotter: Sat Jul 03 23:59:04 GMT 2021 Temp: 58.1f, Humidity: 14%, Pressure: 28.657in, Wind: 21mph from 69degs, Skies: Orthographic clouds continue to increase on the north and west horizons with some additional clouds creeping up over the summit to the south. So far they are holding steady in the distance. Aerosols have increased dramatically are are quite visible in the Kcor NRGF image. ___end___ Sun Jul 04 00:15:10 GMT 2021 Kcor Focus/alignment program exited KCOR COMMENT BY mcotter: Sun Jul 04 00:19:17 GMT 2021 The Kcor NRGF image was getting progressively worse looking with aerosols. I stopped the program and ran the focus routine again. After multiple attempts I finally got a well shaped parabola. Hopefully this action will translate into better resolution in the NRGF imagery. ___end___ GONG COMMENT BY mcotter: Sun Jul 04 00:24:39 GMT 2021 Opened GONG trailer door. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Sun Jul 04 03:26:32 GMT 2021 Clear skies all day, though there were a lot of aerosols in the afternoon. The wind was a bit gusty at times, but not too bad. CME this morning! Good day for taking data! ___end___ ONSITE STAFF: mcotter
