I loaded "daily.menu" menu and then engaged the "Center Occulter" button. After a few moments the center occulter GUI came up but the image was all black. I checked the "mech-controller" and there did not appear to be anything in the beam. I went back to the Ucomp Controller program and tried stopping it but it was unresponsive. I stopped the program manually and then restarted it over. This time it came up and I engaged the Center Occulter button. When the Center Occulter GUI came up it was still just a black screen, but I saw that the mech-controller said that the shutter was in the beam. I retracted the shutter and the center occulter image came up as normal. I centered the occulter and the instrument now appears to be running normally. ___end___ KCOR COMMENT BY mcotter: Mon Nov 08 17:55:27 GMT 2021 Three "Bullet holes" are quite noticeable at the bottom edge (approximately 170 deg) of the Kcor NRGF image. I saw these anomalies on Saturday also and tried blowing off the Kcor 01 several times both Saturday and this morning but they will not budge. We should consider rinsing the Kcor 01 the next time we have overcast skies and are not taking data. ___end___ Mon Nov 08 18:08:20 GMT 2021 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelenght_coronal.cbk line 0 GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Mon Nov 08 18:14:09 GMT 2021 PM Blew off Kcor Field Lens. A small particle is visible in the Kcor NRGF image, toward the edge of the display at approximately 75 deg. I blew the Kcor Field Lens off thoroughly to see if I could remove it from the image. ___end___ Mon Nov 08 19:19:41 GMT 2021 Running UCOMP Cookbook dark_80ms_2beam_16sums_BOTH.cbk line 0 Mon Nov 08 19:20:58 GMT 2021 Running UCOMP Cookbook 637_Pol_Calibrate.cbk line 0 Mon Nov 08 19:25:21 GMT 2021 Running UCOMP Cookbook 656_Pol_Calibrate.cbk line 0 Mon Nov 08 19:29:25 GMT 2021 Running UCOMP Cookbook 789_Pol_Calibrate.cbk line 0 Mon Nov 08 19:33:29 GMT 2021 Running UCOMP Cookbook 1074_Pol_Calibrate.cbk line 0 Mon Nov 08 19:37:32 GMT 2021 Running UCOMP Cookbook 1079_Pol_Calibrate.cbk line 0 Mon Nov 08 19:41:36 GMT 2021 Running UCOMP Cookbook waves_1074_1hour.cbk line 0 Mon Nov 08 19:47:25 GMT 2021 Running UCOMP Cookbook waves_1074_1hour.cbk line 12 Mon Nov 08 20:49:11 GMT 2021 Running UCOMP Cookbook waves_1074_1hour.cbk line 121 Mon Nov 08 20:53:07 GMT 2021 Running UCOMP Cookbook dark_200_1sums_80ms.cbk line 0 WEATHER COMMENT: mcotter: Mon Nov 08 20:57:10 GMT 2021 High altitude Cirrus has formed to the southeast, south, southwest and a bit to the west. Later this morning (I don't know exactly what time) the scale change to +20 to -20 full scale. I am uncertain why this has happened, other than that the RA & Dec errors have increased in magnitude, but what has contributed to this increase in magnitude. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Mon Nov 08 21:35:56 GMT 2021 High altitude Cirrus is beginning to spread across the sky but so far it has not encroached in the viewing area. ___end___ Mon Nov 08 21:40:56 GMT 2021 UCoMP Paused for clouds Mon Nov 08 21:44:14 GMT 2021 UCoMP Restarted from pause Mon Nov 08 21:45:56 GMT 2021 UCoMP Paused for clouds Mon Nov 08 22:00:08 GMT 2021 UCoMP Restarted from pause WEATHER COMMENT: mcotter: Mon Nov 08 22:07:53 GMT 2021 A few bands of high altitude Cirrus moved through the viewing area and the instruments were paused for a few minutes. Looking through the Yawcam Preview image I could see the wisps of clouds moving through the image. After a few minutes the Yawcam Preview image looked like the clouds had dissipated and were gone. I restarted the instruments, but the Kcor Stand Alone image looked over exposed so I again stopped the instruments again. I waited about ten minutes and restarted the Kcor instrument and the images look good. Both Kcor and Ucomp are again running. ___end___ KCOR COMMENT BY mcotter: Mon Nov 08 22:10:24 GMT 2021 Kcor had been stopped for clouds, but the clouds have passed out of the viewing area: Kcor has been restarted. ___end___ UCoMP COMMENT BY mcotter: Mon Nov 08 22:11:05 GMT 2021 Ucomp had been stopped for clouds, but the clouds have passed out of the viewing area: Ucomp has been restarted. ___end___ Mon Nov 08 22:14:11 GMT 2021 UCoMP Paused for clouds GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Mon Nov 08 23:12:08 GMT 2021 Just prior to shutting down the instruments because of clouds I noticed that the SGS Arc second RA & Dec error graph changed again and is now on +30 to -30 full scale. Again, I do not know what is causing the increase in RA & Dec error values, but something is occurring to lead to the increase in these values. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Tue Nov 09 02:04:09 GMT 2021 The day sarted out good but high altitude Cirrus clouds moved into the viewing area in the early afternoon and the instruments were stopped. ___end___ ONSITE STAFF: berkey, mcotter
