I had only saw this once before and Ben was with me at the time and he fixed the problem. I texted Ben and he texted me back instructions to correct the issues. The "Moonfish" computer had become corrupted and the displays were affected. I manually restarted the Moonfish computer and was able to straighten out the display image discrepancies. Afterward the GONG programs would not come up, so again Ben texted me the commands to start the GONG apps. ___end___ Sat Nov 20 19:53:07 GMT 2021 UCoMP Paused for clouds GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Sat Nov 20 20:04:25 GMT 2021 I have paused both instruments as the images became quite bright. Looking at the Yawcam-Preview image there did not appear to be any clouds in the image of the sky. Going outside and looking at the sky I could see bits of high altitude Cirrus in various areas of the sky. Looking toward the Sun I could not see any Cirrus in the area of the viewing area so I tried starting the Kcor instrument again, but the image is totally over saturated with light so again the instrument has been paused. I will try again in a little while to see if this is just a passing event, or if indeed high altitude Cirrus is forming across the sky, though only visible by eye in small areas. ___end___ WEATHER COMMENT: mcotter: Sat Nov 20 20:13:34 GMT 2021 High altitude Cirrus is now visible in the Yawcam-Preview image. I will continue to watch the skies and periodically try the instruments to see if the skies are still too bright for collecting data. ___end___ Sat Nov 20 20:45:15 GMT 2021 Kcor Focus/alignment program exited Sat Nov 20 21:05:52 GMT 2021 Kcor Focus/alignment program exited GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Sat Nov 20 21:05:55 GMT 2021 I have again tried starting Kcor but the sky continues to be much too bright to observe. ___end___ Sat Nov 20 21:45:11 GMT 2021 Kcor Focus/alignment program exited Sat Nov 20 21:48:09 GMT 2021 UCoMP Restarted from pause GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Sat Nov 20 21:49:06 GMT 2021 The sky appears a bit bright but I tried starting the instruments and the images, though a little bright, appear acceptable. By late morning high altitude Cirrus began moving in from the west and also began forming slowly in the sky. I tried several times to pause and restart the instruments but the clouds won out. ___end___ Sat Nov 20 22:25:06 GMT 2021 UCoMP Restarted from pause GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Sat Nov 20 22:26:38 GMT 2021 Kcor and Ucomp instruments stopped. ___end___ ONSITE STAFF: mcotter
