I have observed this once before and it required a reboot of the computers and a hard reboot of the NEMA box components that control the Kcor functions. ___end___ **KCOR PROBLEM COMMENT BY mcotter** : Mon Dec 20 18:48:28 GMT 2021 As stated in the previous comment, when attempting to start the Kcor instrument a GUI came up repeatedly stating there was a time out error. I turned off the two power strips within the Kcor NEMA control box in the dome, then turned off the Kcor computer from the dome station. I turned on the power strips within the Kcor NEMA box, then turned the Kcor computer back on from the control room station. The Kcor instrument and software now appear to be operating normally. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Mon Dec 20 18:49:37 GMT 2021 The sky continues to be much too bright with high altitude Cirrus clouds to operate the instruments at this time. ___end___ Mon Dec 20 18:50:37 GMT 2021 Kcor Focus/alignment program exited WEATHER COMMENT: mcotter: Mon Dec 20 19:34:49 GMT 2021 Temp: 41.5f, Humidity: 86%, Pressure: 28.719in, Wind: 3mph from 309degs, Skies: The cloud coverage over the observatory has increased substantially as the high altitude Cirrus is thickening and spreading across the sky. Additionally Orthographic clouds are beginning to move in from the east. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Mon Dec 20 19:35:30 GMT 2021 The dome windows and dome shutter doors have been closed in the event on precipitation. ___end___ WEATHER COMMENT: mcotter: Mon Dec 20 21:37:39 GMT 2021 Temp: 42.1f, Humidity: 96%, Pressure: 28.682in, Wind: 4mph from 329degs, Skies: The sky is completely overcast and Orthographic clouds have moved into the science center and are over the observatory. Satellite images show very strong storms off to the west of the Hawaiian Islands and more storms to the east of the islands. Conditions are very wet at the observatory and current temperatures are in the low 40's, so it is likely that there is going to be snow and ice present at the science center as the day progresses and temperatures drop. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Mon Dec 20 23:34:18 GMT 2021 Thunder can be heard pretty close. Heading down. No data today. ___end___ ONSITE STAFF: mcotter
