Having never experienced this situation, nor ever having heard this expression, I emailed Ben and asked him if he could describe what to look for in the GONG image that would make me aware of this situation. Ben later called me and in detail described what GONG turret oscillation was, how it could be identified and what action(s) to take to correct for this anomaly. If this situation were to arise again I am confident that I could identify the anomaly and correct for it accordingly. ___end___ Sat Jan 08 21:45:13 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook dark_200_1sums_80ms.cbk line 0 Sat Jan 08 21:50:13 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook no-occulter-flat.cbk line 0 Sat Jan 08 21:56:45 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelenght_coronal_flat.cbk line 0 Sat Jan 08 22:15:07 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelenght_coronal.cbk line 0 **GONG PROBLEM COMMENT BY mcotter** : Sat Jan 08 22:46:31 GMT 2022 The GONG SAO Image showed an error and looked unusual. I stopped both the Pitch and Roll controls via the GUI buttons on the same screen, waited approximately 30 seconds then restarted. After doing this a "Guide Error" came up in the SAO Image and in the GONG Tool Instrument GUI. I turned off the Guider via the GUI control button, waited 15 seconds then turned the Guider back on. After a few minutes the SAO Image and the GONG Tool Instrument GUI both returned to normal. ___end___ Sat Jan 08 23:09:02 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelenght_coronal.cbk line 27 Sat Jan 08 23:27:42 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelenght_coronal.cbk line 0 Sun Jan 09 00:16:20 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelenght_coronal.cbk line 24 Sun Jan 09 00:41:24 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook dark_80ms_2beam_16sums_BOTH.cbk line 0 Sun Jan 09 00:42:41 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook 1074_Pol_Calibrate.cbk line 0 Sun Jan 09 00:47:06 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelenght_coronal_flat.cbk line 0 Sun Jan 09 01:05:13 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook no-occulter-flat.cbk line 0 Sun Jan 09 01:11:26 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelenght_coronal.cbk line 0 WEATHER COMMENT: mcotter: Sun Jan 09 01:23:14 GMT 2022 Temp: 49.8f, Humidity: 59%, Pressure: 28.661in, Wind: 5mph from 360degs, Skies: The sky is getting a little bright, as can be seen in the images, but the sky remains clear. I paused Ucomp and stopped Kcor and went to the dome to investigate and found that the ladder was not far enough out of the way and it stopped the spar from advancing. I re-homed the spar then re-aligned on the Sun and engaged the close Loop command. The spar is now tracking . ___end___ KCOR COMMENT BY mcotter: Sun Jan 09 01:48:33 GMT 2022 When I restarted Kcor I thought I would check the focus image because the Kcor NRGF image was beginning to look poor, as it has lots of aerosols in the image. When I started the focus routine the whole image was very over saturated with aerosols. I thought I would try to run the Kcor Stand Alone Image Acquisition control program to see what it looks like and the images were very bright with aerosols and it obviously too bright to run the instrument. The Kcor instrument in now stopped due to sky conditions. ___end___ Sun Jan 09 01:49:29 GMT 2022 UCoMP Restarted from pause UCoMP COMMENT BY mcotter: Sun Jan 09 02:45:38 GMT 2022 The Ucomp instrument is now stopped due to sky conditions. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Sun Jan 09 02:46:06 GMT 2022 Emptied trash container in control room. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Sun Jan 09 02:47:54 GMT 2022 Beautiful clear day!
