Orthographic clouds can be observed coming up the flanks of Maunaloa in all directions. The clouds coming up from the Saddle Valley in the north are darker in color and may pose a problem of precipitation, ___end___ Tue Jan 18 23:38:09 GMT 2022 UCoMP Paused for clouds GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Tue Jan 18 23:42:47 GMT 2022 Both Kcor and Ucomp are now stopped due to clouds in the observing area. ___end___ KCOR COMMENT BY mcotter: Wed Jan 19 00:15:43 GMT 2022 The Kcor Acquistion program would not shut down, even after repeated attempts to close via the Stop button. I exited and closed the Labview program and restarted. The Labview programs started with no problem. ___end___ Wed Jan 19 00:16:09 GMT 2022 UCoMP Restarted from pause GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Wed Jan 19 00:17:04 GMT 2022 The instruments are again on sky and running. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Wed Jan 19 00:18:22 GMT 2022 Aerosols are high and the Kcor Acquisition images are a bit bright, but I am going to let the instrument run for now. ___end___ Wed Jan 19 00:51:34 GMT 2022 UCoMP Paused for clouds Wed Jan 19 01:08:17 GMT 2022 UCoMP Restarted from pause UCoMP COMMENT BY mlso: Wed Jan 19 01:46:27 GMT 2022 UCoMP tuning files were updated before the start of observing today and yesterday. These updates should correct a blueward linear drift we are seeing in the UCoMP Lyot filter tuning in 2021. It is unclear why the filter is drifting but this new tuning file should correct the filter back to line center. Yesterday all wavelengths were updated at 6:00am (before taking data). Today (based on yesterday’s data) 637, 1074, and 1079 were further tweaked and changes were applied about 6:30 am before we started taking data. ___end___ Wed Jan 19 01:48:23 GMT 2022 UCoMP Paused for clouds WEATHER COMMENT: mcotter: Wed Jan 19 01:52:27 GMT 2022 The sky has become quite bright with aerosols and wisps of clouds continue to form and dissipate above the observatory and in the viewing area. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Wed Jan 19 01:53:02 GMT 2022 Due to sky conditions both Kcor and Ucomp have been stopped. ___end___ **KCOR PROBLEM COMMENT BY mcotter** : Wed Jan 19 01:58:12 GMT 2022 Again, when trying to stop the Kcor Acquisition program by hitting the Stop button the program was unresponsive. The MC4u GUI worked fine and I was able to put the cover in the beam with no problem, but when I tried stopping the Kcor program nothing happened. When the Stop button did not work I tried hitting the Abort button and open the File pull down menu but the program was completely unresponsive. I ended up opening the Task Manager and closing the Labview program using this method. ___end___ KCOR COMMENT BY mcotter: Wed Jan 19 02:00:10 GMT 2022 I restarted the Labview program and opened all the GUI's with no problem. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Wed Jan 19 02:26:03 GMT 2022 Emptied all trash receptacles in the observatory. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Wed Jan 19 02:27:07 GMT 2022 Beautiful clear day until early afternoon when aerosols started to increase and sporadic clouds came into the viewing area. ___end___ ONSITE STAFF:
