The weather is warming up here on the slopes of Maunaloa, as spring is just around the corner. Little to no wind. Some lower altitude Cumulus clouds can be observed along the windward and leeward coastlines of the Big Island, but so far nothing nothing is making it's way up toward the observatory. ___end___ Sun Mar 13 21:36:43 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelenght_coronal.cbk line 0 Sun Mar 13 22:04:42 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelenght_coronal.cbk line 0 Sun Mar 13 22:32:39 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelenght_coronal.cbk line 0 Sun Mar 13 23:00:19 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelenght_coronal_flat.cbk line 0 Sun Mar 13 23:15:34 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelenght_coronal.cbk line 0 Sun Mar 13 23:43:41 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelenght_coronal.cbk line 0 WEATHER COMMENT: mcotter: Sun Mar 13 23:55:27 GMT 2022 Orthographic clouds are beginning to appear on the western slope on Maunaloa, but so far are staying low on the horizon and to the west of the viewing area. There were also a few clouds above the summit of Maunaloa to the south, but they have begun to break up. The wind is moderate and blowing from the north-northwest, so perhaps the wind will keep the clouds at bay for the rest of the day. ___end___ Mon Mar 14 00:11:39 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelenght_coronal.cbk line 0 ****Possible CME in Progress mcotter**** : Mon Mar 14 00:18:59 GMT 2022 Observers report with High confidence a CME seeing launching near PA 245 deg, with a minimum width of3 deg, at UT time 23:34:09. ___end___ WEATHER COMMENT: mcotter: Mon Mar 14 00:21:51 GMT 2022 Aerosols are beginning to increase dramatically, as can be seen in the Kcor NRGF images. ___end___ Mon Mar 14 00:39:36 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelenght_coronal_flat.cbk line 0 Mon Mar 14 00:54:52 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelenght_coronal.cbk line 0 Mon Mar 14 01:22:58 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelenght_coronal.cbk line 0 Mon Mar 14 01:50:56 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelenght_coronal.cbk line 0 WEATHER COMMENT: mcotter: Mon Mar 14 02:07:43 GMT 2022 It is a spectacularly beautiful day in the neighborhood! The clouds reported on earlier are still low on the western slope of Maunaloa and clear skies persist all around and in all directions!!Though the aerosols have increased throughout the afternoon, the Kcor NRGF images and synoptic images are still quite good. ___end___ Mon Mar 14 02:18:43 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelenght_coronal_flat.cbk line 0 Mon Mar 14 02:33:58 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelenght_coronal.cbk line 0 WEATHER COMMENT: mcotter: Mon Mar 14 02:56:36 GMT 2022 Aerosols are getting fairly high, as can be observed in the Kcor NRGF images. The Kcor Synoptic images are beginning to get bright backgrounds and appear as a light gray color. I am going to continue to let the instruments run for now, as I am still able to differentiate the coronal ring from the background. ___end___ Mon Mar 14 03:29:53 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelenght_coronal.cbk line 0 GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Mon Mar 14 03:57:18 GMT 2022 Alas, I tried to run the instrument as long as I could, but aerosols quickly became too much and some Orthographic clouds entered the viewing area.
