The inversion layer is very thick and appears a dark blue gray on the horizon. Haleakala cannot be seen on the horizon because of the thick inversion layer. Heavy VOG is visible in the Saddle Valley and is blocking out visibility at lower elevations. Light wind from the southeast. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Sat May 21 17:10:50 GMT 2022 Opened windows upstairs ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Sat May 21 17:10:56 GMT 2022 PM Blew off UCoMP O1 ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Sat May 21 17:11:02 GMT 2022 PM Blew off Kcor O1 ___end___ KCOR COMMENT BY mcotter: Sat May 21 17:11:32 GMT 2022 The sky is currently too bright to observe with Kcor. ___end___ UCoMP COMMENT BY mcotter: Sat May 21 17:12:06 GMT 2022 The sky is currently too bright to observe with Ucomp at this time. ___end___ Sat May 21 17:13:57 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelength_coronal_flat.cbk line 0 Sat May 21 17:14:04 GMT 2022 UCoMP Paused for clouds Sat May 21 17:19:56 GMT 2022 Kcor Focus/alignment program exited Sat May 21 17:58:52 GMT 2022 Kcor Focus/alignment program exited Sat May 21 17:59:38 GMT 2022 UCoMP Restarted from pause Sat May 21 18:01:39 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelength_coronal_flat.cbk line 2 KCOR COMMENT BY mcotter: Sat May 21 18:02:05 GMT 2022 Though the sky is a bit bright, the Kcor instrument is now observing. ___end___ UCoMP COMMENT BY mcotter: Sat May 21 18:02:50 GMT 2022 Though the sky is a bit bright, the Ucomp instrument is now observing. ___end___ Sat May 21 18:15:46 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelength_coronal.cbk line 0 Sat May 21 18:43:41 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelength_coronal.cbk line 0 Sat May 21 19:11:08 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelength_coronal.cbk line 0 Sat May 21 19:38:45 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelength_coronal_flat.cbk line 0 Sat May 21 19:53:56 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook waves_1074_1hour.cbk line 0 Sat May 21 20:06:26 GMT 2022 KCOR Start Calibration script: c:\kcor\mlso-calibration22deg-20171025.ini Sat May 21 20:21:41 GMT 2022 KCOR End Calibration Script Sat May 21 21:03:45 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelength_coronal.cbk line 0 Sat May 21 21:31:32 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelength_coronal_flat.cbk line 0 Sat May 21 21:46:43 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelength_coronal.cbk line 0 Sat May 21 22:13:00 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelength_coronal.cbk line 17 Sat May 21 22:15:32 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelength_coronal.cbk line 0 Sat May 21 22:28:15 GMT 2022 UCoMP Paused for clouds WEATHER COMMENT: mcotter: Sat May 21 22:35:56 GMT 2022 The mornign was relatively clear but the sky was very bright. The VOG was very heavy in the Saddle Valley. Now Orographic clouds have arrived and are over the viewing area and observatory. The VOG has also moved up to the elevation of the observatory and can be smelt and seen. ___end___ KCOR COMMENT BY mcotter: Sat May 21 22:39:12 GMT 2022 Kcor has been stopped due to generally poor sky conditions. By early afternoon Orographic clouds with VOG came up from the Saddle Valley and I closed the dome. The clouds did break up a bit later, but the sky remained much too bright to do further observations. ___end___ ONSITE STAFF: mcotter
