A well defined halo is visible around the Sun at this time. ___end___ Tue May 31 21:19:49 GMT 2022 UCoMP Restarted from pause GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Tue May 31 21:28:07 GMT 2022 My earlier hope that the cloud coverage of this morning would burn off is not likely to happen. Overall cloud coverage of various types, Cirrus, Cirrocumulus and Cirrostratus (upper level clouds) has increased dramatically and the sky appears quite bright with a large halo visible around the Sun. Looking at the current satellite images, no large storm systems are observed anywhere near the Hawaiian Islands. What is visible is mostly upper level clouds for the next couple of days, making for bright days. We may be able to get observation in if the clouds stay mostly to the south (where they are trending for now) and the thin upper level clouds burn off as the Sun rises. Thankfully the heavy VOG that we have been experiencing the last couple of weeks has diminished and the skies are not nearly as hazy as they have been. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Tue May 31 21:28:41 GMT 2022 ___end___ ONSITE STAFF: lisapg, mcotter
