VOG can be observed in the distance at lower elevations and the sky in all directions has a light haze. ___end___ Tue Jun 07 20:55:19 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelength_coronal.cbk line 0 KCOR COMMENT BY mcotter: Tue Jun 07 21:02:12 GMT 2022 The Kcor-Stand Alone Acquisition Synoptic images look very good, i.e. dark black background with a well defined sharp bright white coronal ring. Though the K-cor synoptic images look quite good the Kcor NRGF image is beginning to show signs of increasing aerosols, i.e. grainy appearance on the outer perimeter with softening less focused center area adjacent occulter shadow. I am unsure why this is happening because typically as the Kcor NRGF image gets poorer in quality the Kcor synoptic images also become poorer by growing brighter in appearance. The appearance of the Kcor Quicklook image is also showing elevated aerosols by getting a little blurry and less defined. ___end___ Tue Jun 07 21:23:07 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelength_coronal.cbk line 0 Tue Jun 07 21:50:43 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelength_coronal_flat.cbk line 0 Tue Jun 07 22:05:54 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelength_coronal.cbk line 0 Tue Jun 07 22:33:40 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelength_coronal.cbk line 0 GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Tue Jun 07 22:50:10 GMT 2022 This morning I set the dome slit auto advance control to rotate in the CCW direction to see if it would advance correctly and follow the Sun on it's own. So far so good! It is at this time (approximately 12:40pm HST) that I have been going to the dome to manually rotate the dome slit because the controls have been getting confused and not tracking correctly after the Sun reaches zenith. I'll further comment at the end of day if the dome slit has tracked correctly all day or not. ___end___ Tue Jun 07 23:01:07 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelength_coronal.cbk line 0 Tue Jun 07 23:28:44 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelength_coronal_flat.cbk line 0 Tue Jun 07 23:43:54 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelength_coronal.cbk line 0 **GONG PROBLEM COMMENT BY mcotter** : Wed Jun 08 00:06:20 GMT 2022 I opened the GONG trailer door as the temp has been inreasing and it is now in the yellow. **NOTE**: One of the circulation fans has apparently died. I tried the fan on several different setting and also tried plugging it into a different receptacle, but I was unable to get it to work. I took a photo of the fan and will email the GONG support team to let them know. ___end___ Wed Jun 08 00:11:40 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelength_coronal.cbk line 0 WEATHER COMMENT: mcotter: Wed Jun 08 00:14:10 GMT 2022 Orographic clouds have come up from the south and west and are now in the vicinity of the science area. Additionally, aerosols are continuing to increase as the Kcor Synoptic images have brightened up a bit, though they still look fairly good. The Kcor NRGF images continue to show elevated aerosols and the images appear a little grainy. ___end___ Wed Jun 08 00:39:19 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelength_coronal.cbk line 0 WEATHER COMMENT: mcotter: Wed Jun 08 00:55:20 GMT 2022 Aerosols continue to rise, but so far the clouds to the south and west continue to stay away from the observatory and the viewing area. ___end___ Wed Jun 08 01:06:57 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelength_coronal_flat.cbk line 0 Wed Jun 08 01:22:07 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelength_coronal.cbk line 0 Wed Jun 08 01:50:13 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelength_coronal.cbk line 0 Wed Jun 08 02:17:40 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelength_coronal.cbk line 0 Wed Jun 08 02:45:07 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelength_coronal_flat.cbk line 0 GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Wed Jun 08 02:52:44 GMT 2022 The dome slit has continue to track the Sun all afternoon with no mishaps or problems. Going forward we should put the dome controls in "Auto" & "CCW", until the Sun is in its southerly decent across the horizon; probably sometime mid August. ___end___ Wed Jun 08 03:00:17 GMT 2022 Running UCOMP Cookbook all_wavelength_coronal.cbk line 0 GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Wed Jun 08 03:22:57 GMT 2022 Emptied all the trash receptacles in the observatory.
