Ben and I worked primarily on the installation and calibration of the RA Mechanism throughout the afternoon. Several times during the RA installation process we removed the worm tension springs and replaced and adjusted the springs and the mechanical back stop. For the mechanical backstop we ended up adjusting the "Pad" style set screw until it was approximately .200' forward of the block surface. We felt this additional room provided the right amount of motion movement for the RA Worm frame housing. Several times Ben and I adjusted and readjusted the clutch pad back plate and ended up completely loosening the clutch pad then slowly tightening the clutch pad and jam nut until the movement felt smooth and uniform. We did electrically slew the Spar and it appeared to travel smoothly. We intend to pick up on these final, incremental, adjustments again in the morning. Marc Starling removed the tenting from the dome floor and a fiber cardboard was laid down for foot traffic and ladder movement temporarily while the floor continues to cure. Marc continued to work on the painting and trim work and is almost done with the painting. ___end___ ONSITE STAFF: berkey, mcotter, Mark S
