Skies: Heavy cloud coverage and fog in the Saddle Valley and up to approximately 9500' elevation. Thick hazy dark gray inversion layer visible on the horizon at approximately 10,000' elevation. Scattered Cirrus and Alto Cumulus clouds across the sky in all directions.

Skies: The skies are now thickly covered with Cirrus and Alto Cumulus clouds in all directions. The inversion layer has risen and now appears to be above 11,000' elevation and is a very dark hazy brown gray color. Hualalai is barely visible and the Kohala coastline cannot be seen through the thick hazy air. The Kilauea volcano has been very active lately and this must be the main contributing factor to the excessively dark inversion layer.
