I caught the error as it was happening and quickly stopped the observing program. ___end___ Weather COMMENT BY mcotter: Mon Jul 27 18:56:42 GMT 2026 MLO Current Weather Timestamp (UTC): 2026-07-27 18:47:00 Temperature : 61.0 deg F Dew Point : -9.6 deg F Pressure : 681.71 mbar Wind Speed : 13.65 mph Wind Direction : 66.8 deg Skies: The sky is very clear in all directions. The wind is picking up and continues to be a little gusty blowing from the northeast. The Dew Point is fairly low today and within the observatory static electricity is quite noticeable and static shocks have been felt several time today moving around the observatory. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Mon Jul 27 19:06:18 GMT 2026 Due to the moderately gusty wind conditions I have closed the dome windows and the lower dome shutter at this time to inhibit unwanted shake on the instrument and spar. ___end___ Mon Jul 27 20:00:46 GMT 2026 KCOR Start Calibration script: c:\kcor\mlso-calibration22deg-20171025.ini Mon Jul 27 20:24:15 GMT 2026 KCOR Start Calibration script: c:\kcor\mlso-calibration22deg-20171025.ini ** KCOR PROBLEM REPORTED BY mcotter ** : Mon Jul 27 20:30:40 GMT 2026 Kcor circular acquisition error during a calibration procedure: During the calibration there was an acquisition error due to the lack of available storage space on drive E, so space was cleared on the E drive and the observing code and Socket Cam program was restarted. The observing code was run for a few minutes, then the calibration procedure was restarted. So far so good and the system appears to be running properly. ___end___ Mon Jul 27 20:39:12 GMT 2026 KCOR End Calibration Script Weather COMMENT BY mcotter: Mon Jul 27 22:40:21 GMT 2026 MLSO Current Weather Timestamp (UTC): 2026-07-27 22:28:00 Temperature : 65.57 deg F Dew Point : -0.04 deg F Pressure : 681.97 mbar Wind Speed : 12.53 mph Wind Direction : 63.0 deg Skies: The sky continues to be very clear in all directions. Aerosols are increasing, as can be seen in the images, but they are not too bad at this time and don't appear to be having a discernible effect on the observations at this time. The wind continues to be elevated and gusty, primarily blowing out of the east-northeast. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Mon Jul 27 23:05:14 GMT 2026 When the spar and instrument passed zenith we manually rotated the dome 180 degrees so that the open dome slit is now facing to the west; this was done so as to keep the easterly gusty winds effects on our observing to a minimum. ___end___ ** GENERAL PROBLEM REPORTED BY mcotter ** : Tue Jul 28 00:38:43 GMT 2026 Internet down: At approximately 13:18 HST there was a power glitch on the output of the Yeti Power Unit. The output power dropped out and it caused the network to go down for a brief period of time. The first obvious thing that happened is that the Kcor computer screen disappeared and the KVM computer Log In page appeared on the screen. After putting in the User Name and Password for the KVM computer we were able to once again select the Kcor computer screen in order to start issuing commands. On the Kcor computer screen there was an error GUI that appeared advising us that Kcor lost the SGS connection. The observing screen was still on, so the program was briefly stopped then restarted in order to re-establish the connection between the Kcor observing code and the SGS. The Global Connect connections had dropped out for both the Kcor and Wahoo 2 computers, so both connections were re-established. After getting everything running again I checked the Grafana web page that Ben set up displaying GUI's showing graphs of the Eco Flo and Yeti Power Units input/output power and battery power level status. The displays show when the glitch occurred and may be associated with the fact that the Yeti Power Unit is now fully charged at 100% battery capacity. ___end___ Weather COMMENT BY mcotter: Tue Jul 28 00:46:17 GMT 2026 MLSO Current Weather Timestamp (UTC): 2026-07-28 00:35:00 Temperature : 66.15 deg F Dew Point : 9.73 deg F Pressure : 681.48 mbar Wind Speed : 15.21 mph Wind Direction : 51.5 deg Skies: Though the sky remains mostly clear there are now some Orographic clouds starting to come over the southern and western slopes of Maunaloa. The wind speed continues to increase and is very gusty from the northeast. Aerosols have continued to increase but so far do not seem to be effecting the image quality adversely. ___end___ ** KCOR PROBLEM REPORTED BY mcotter ** : Tue Jul 28 00:58:45 GMT 2026 Kcor: Though the Kcor observing program seemed to be running okay, it appeared that the Socketcam Command Window data was hung up and not updating. The information on the Update-Data and the Kcor NRGF Command Windows was updating and read out properly, so I am unsure why this anomaly would take place. I stopped and restarted the observing program and both the Kcor Synoptic GUI and the Socketcam Command Window appear to be running correctly. ___end___ Tue Jul 28 01:24:55 GMT 2026 Report Time: 01:24:27 UTC Image: 20260727_234600_kcor_l2_nrgf.gif Obs time: 23:46:00 Launch Time: 23:46:00 UT CME Front Height: 2.00 Rs (front) CME Front Angle: 55.4 East Wing Angle: 54.9 West Wing Angle: 61.9 Angular Width: 7.0 CME Speed: moderate CME Brightness: faint Confidence: medium Seen in: nrgf KCOR COMMENT BY mcotter: Tue Jul 28 02:08:24 GMT 2026 Kcor: Images started getting bright.
