The wind continues to be gusty and appears to be increasing. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Mon Aug 31 22:38:22 GMT 2026 I tried manually rotating the dome, so that the dome slit faces away from the prevailing easterly winds, but the pointing of the spar has not quite traversed the sky far enough past zenith to allow for this. In doing this I clipped the Kcor light path for a brief moment. I will attempt to manually rotate the dome slit away from the prevailing winds when the spar gets further past zenith. ___end___ Weather COMMENT BY mcotter: Mon Aug 31 23:18:25 GMT 2026 entry was edited MLO Current Weather Timestamp (UTC): 2026-08-31 23:08:00 Temperature : 63.27 deg F Dew Point : 36.27 deg F Pressure : 681.32 mbar Wind Speed : 4.25 mph Wind Direction : 315.7 deg Skies: Patches of Cirrus clouds are now present overhead and appear scattered across broad areas of the sky from overhead to the north, west and south. While the Kcor instrument was down I took the opportunity to run the kcor_daily_check program. Normally this operation does not take long, perhaps 30 seconds. Shortly after starting the program it got hung up and the command window froze. After waiting a couple of minutes I manually closed the window and ran the catchup-kcor-transfer program. This program seemed to run fine and when it was done I closed it when prompted using the "Enter" command. ___end___ KCOR COMMENT BY mcotter: Tue Sep 01 00:07:57 GMT 2026 entry was edited Kcor: I have restarted the Kcor program at this time. The Kcor instrument is again observing, though the sky is a bit bright and the aerosols are very high. ___end___ Tue Sep 01 00:35:12 GMT 2026 Kcor Focus/alignment program exited KCOR COMMENT BY mcotter: Tue Sep 01 00:40:00 GMT 2026 Kcor: The initial NRGF that came through after restart were very washed out and appeared a bit blurry. I stopped observing and ran the Auto-Focus routine to see if it would improve the NRGF images. The focus is now set to 133.4, as per the auto focus reading. ___end___ KCOR COMMENT BY mcotter: Tue Sep 01 00:58:29 GMT 2026 entry was edited Kcor: Clouds continue to periodically appear in the viewing area, prompting me to stop and restart the instrument observing. Of note is that the Socketcam continues to be problematic and does not react smoothly to when the observing program GUI is stopped. ___end___ ** KCOR PROBLEM REPORTED BY mcotter ** : Tue Sep 01 01:00:19 GMT 2026 entry was edited Kcor circular acquisition error.
