After several attempts and it not opening I texted Ben to ensure that we are still using this devise for pipeline data transfer (we had spoken earlier in the week about eliminating this function) and he said that we still needed to run this app. I shut down the observing program then ran the Kcor-Daily app and manually sent the data collected this morning to the pipeline, then restarted the computer. After the computer restarted everything came up as normal, including the Kcor Watchdog app. Everything is now operating as normal. It should be noted that earlier this week when I was observing I had a problem with the Kcor data not making it through the pipeline. After investigating it showed that the pipeline with the processed data from Boulder to MLSO appeared to be operating normally, but the Kcor-NRGF and Update-Data apps were not reading out or displaying the processed data from Boulder. I closed both apps and restarted them and they started operating as normal and the data began to flow and display. Additionally, this morning I had an issue with the SGS app not not seeing the Home Position and an GUI popped up advising me of this error. I shutdown and restarted the SGS app and the program came up and could see Home Position and began running normally. Until all our devises are operating in a normal operating condition it may be a good idea to formally shutdown the various instrument apps on all the desk tops at the end of the day in order to minimize error conditions of this nature when restarting in the morning. ___end___ Sat Oct 03 18:46:35 GMT 2026 KCOR Start Calibration script: c:\kcor\mlso-calibration22deg-20171025.ini Sat Oct 03 19:01:49 GMT 2026 KCOR End Calibration Script Sat Oct 03 19:59:39 GMT 2026 Kcor Focus/alignment program exited Sat Oct 03 20:03:22 GMT 2026 Kcor Focus/alignment program exited Sat Oct 03 20:29:06 GMT 2026 Kcor Focus/alignment program exited KCOR COMMENT BY mcotter: Sat Oct 03 20:35:20 GMT 2026 Kcor: At approximately 0905 HST I stopped the instrument and started the process of changing out the #2 O1 lens for the #3 O1 lens. I finished the installation and updated the Kcor config file to reflect the O1 lens substitution. I started the Kcor instrument, ran the focus routine and started observing, but the occulter centering did not look good to me. I closed the observing code and opened the focus again then manually adjusted the SGS values to better position the occulter. After making adjustment to the SGS values I restarted the Kcor observing program at approximately 1005 HST. The Kcor instrument is now observing with the #3-O1 lens. ___end___ Sat Oct 03 21:17:42 GMT 2026 Kcor Focus/alignment program exited BY mcotter: Sat Oct 03 21:25:06 GMT 2026 Kcor: After putting the new O1 #3 lens into the instrument I restarted the observing program. A few minutes later I had gotten an error message email from the pipeline saying that that the way I entered the new lens info into the configuration file was incorrect. I went back and re-entered the information again in the correct format. The Kcor observing program was restarted and the instrument is now observing with O1-#3 lens. ___end___ Sat Oct 03 21:29:17 GMT 2026 KCOR Start Calibration script: c:\kcor\mlso-calibration22deg-20171025.ini Sat Oct 03 21:44:31 GMT 2026 KCOR End Calibration Script Weather COMMENT BY mcotter: Sat Oct 03 22:06:46 GMT 2026 MLSO Current Weather Timestamp (UTC): 2026-10-03 21:59:00 Temperature : 54.73 deg F Dew Point : 35.11 deg F Pressure : 681.15 mbar Wind Speed : 13.65 mph Wind Direction : 17.4 deg Skies: Clear skies continue but some Orographic clouds are making their way up the eastern slope of Maunaloa. ___end___ Sat Oct 03 22:15:02 GMT 2026 Kcor Focus/alignment program exited ** KCOR PROBLEM REPORTED BY mcotter ** : Sat Oct 03 22:18:43 GMT 2026 Kcor: After running the second calibration for the O1-#3 lens the observation images looked blurred on the NRGF images.
