The entire sky above is covered with Cirrus and Cirrostratus clouds. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Sat May 30 16:51:32 GMT 2026 No observing at this time. Due to overcast sky conditions no observations are possible at this time. The dome will remain closed and the instruments and computers will stay off until the sky conditions improve. ___end___ Weather COMMENT BY mcotter: Sat May 30 17:46:48 GMT 2026 MLSO Current Weather Timestamp (UTC): 2026-05-30 17:41:00 Temperature : 51.37 deg F Dew Point : -6.72 deg F Pressure : 679.66 mbar Wind Speed : 4.7 mph Wind Direction : 300.4 deg Skies: The sky continues to be overcast in all directions with Cirrus and Cirrostratus clouds. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Sat May 30 17:47:32 GMT 2026 No observing at this time due to sky conditions. ___end___ Weather COMMENT BY mcotter: Sat May 30 18:54:44 GMT 2026 MLSO Current Weather Timestamp (UTC): 2026-05-30 18:47:00 Temperature : 55.4 deg F Dew Point : -2.76 deg F Pressure : 679.94 mbar Wind Speed : 10.96 mph Wind Direction : 318.7 deg Skies: The sky continues to be crossed with scattered filaments of Cirrus clouds, though the Cirrostratus clouds seems to have dissipated. Additionally, the wind is starting to pick up and increase. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Sat May 30 18:55:07 GMT 2026 No observing at this time due to sky conditions. ___end___ Weather COMMENT BY mcotter: Sat May 30 19:45:22 GMT 2026 MLSO Current Weather Timestamp (UTC): 2026-05-30 19:38:00 Temperature : 52.72 deg F Dew Point : 23.6 deg F Pressure : 680.22 mbar Wind Speed : 4.7 mph Wind Direction : 309.5 deg Skies: The Sun has burned off most of the Cirrus clouds and the general appearance of the sky is clear, but the Sun has a small rainbow like halo around it and the sky has translucent Cirrostratus clouds completely covering the sky. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Sat May 30 19:46:00 GMT 2026 No observing at this time due to sky conditions. ___end___ Weather COMMENT BY mcotter: Sat May 30 20:42:33 GMT 2026 MLSO Current Weather Timestamp (UTC): 2026-05-30 20:38:00 Temperature : 52.83 deg F Dew Point : 33.43 deg F Pressure : 680.41 mbar Wind Speed : 7.83 mph Wind Direction : 334.2 deg Skies: The sky looks like the Sun may have burned off any cloud coverage in the viewing area, but It is difficult to tell for sure. I am going to proceed as if the sky is now clear. ___end___ Sat May 30 20:53:40 GMT 2026 Kcor Focus/alignment program exited KCOR COMMENT BY mcotter: Sat May 30 21:03:26 GMT 2026 Kcor: The sky looked bright but it was hard to tell if the Sun may have burned off enough of the Cirrostratus clouds to allow for observations. The windows and dome were opened. The Kcor O1 was blown off. I attempted to take observations with the Kcor instrument but the sky proved to be much much too bright to attempt observations at this time. I am going to leave the Kcor instrument on and the spar tracking for now. The lens cover is in beam, so I will continue to monitor the sky and see if there are any opportunities for observations coming. ___end___ KCOR COMMENT BY mcotter: Sat May 30 21:49:00 GMT 2026 Kcor: Several attempts were made to observe with Kcor but the sky remained entirely too bright to make observations. ___end___ Weather COMMENT BY mcotter: Sat May 30 21:51:24 GMT 2026 MLSO Current Weather Timestamp (UTC): 2026-05-30 21:47:00 Temperature : 53.89 deg F Dew Point : 38.7 deg F Pressure : 680.43 mbar Wind Speed : 12.75 mph Wind Direction : 3.0 deg Skies: The sky remained too bright to observe and now Orographic clouds are moving into the observatory area from all directions and are starting to cover most of the sky. ___end___ KCOR COMMENT BY mcotter: Sat May 30 21:54:10 GMT 2026 Kcor: Because of sky conditions Kcor and associated instruments are being shut down. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY mcotter: Sat May 30 22:04:31 GMT 2026 Dome and windows are closed. ___end___ KCOR COMMENT BY mcotter: Sat May 30 22:12:08 GMT 2026 Kcor: When the Kcor computer was first started a GUI appeared stating that their was a charging issue with an internal battery. I took a screen shot of the GUI and pasted it to a shared Google Document and it was sent to Ben and Lisa. I folded the GUI down and continued to operate the computer as usual and it appeared to function normally. No further GUI's appeared during it's operation. ___end___ BY mcotter: Sat May 30 22:35:22 GMT 2026 End Of Day: Unfortunately the sky was overcast all day and though observations were attempted no observation were able to be made. ___end___ Logger COMMENT BY mcotter: Sat May 30 22:35:41 GMT 2026 Log closed ONSITE STAFF: mcotter ___end___
